Evan is visiting St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, April 6 – 7, to offer a half-day Saturday seminar and Sunday morning’s homily. For over 30 years, on a farm in Montrose, CO, Evan and his wife have lived a monastic way of life, reflecting their personal rule, rooted in ancient Christian spiritual disciplines. Evan, from his own practices and scholarship, will share sustainable ways of fostering a culture of spiritual formation in local communities of Jesus.

Over the course of a lifetime, traversing the terrain of the spiritual journey requires recognizing and responding to the voice of Jesus. We learn to hear the internal promptings, nudges, and directives he provides. As we change, we grow and strengthen our lives in Christ. But in whatever stage of faith development we find ourselves, we'll need to embody a set of spiritual practices, a survival kit of sorts, to accompany us throughout the journey.

What does a good survival kit or set of spiritual practices consist of? Would we know how to adapt the survival kit to any type of terrain or season of the journey? Our true selves, our true manhood, is found in Christ, the new way of being human as new creation. In order to flourish, He’s promised to always be with us, guiding us to find rest for our souls. These are some of the issues we will cover together as men on retreat.

Craig Babb, Ed.D. will lead us in developing some key spiritual practices. See his website at, Rhythm of Grace.
